Cocktail
Prepare the glass
If you want a salted rim, moisten the outside rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim briefly into coarse salt or flaked sea salt so it adheres. Set the glass aside.
Combine ingredients
Add 2 oz Don Julio 1942, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz Grand Marnier, and 0.25 oz agave syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Shake
Fill the shaker with ice (large cubes or crushed). Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
Strain and serve
Double-strain the mixture into the prepared chilled rocks or coupe glass over one large ice cube (or a few fresh cubes). Alternatively, serve neat in a chilled coupe without ice if preferred.
Adjust sweetness (optional)
Taste and, if desired, add an additional 0.125–0.25 oz agave syrup for more sweetness. Stir gently to incorporate if you add extra syrup.
