Equipment (not an ingredient, included for completeness)

Method

Base (per shake)

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place the serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to keep the shake cold longer.

2

Add 1 cup whole milk and 2 scoops vanilla ice cream to the blender.

3

Add 1 teaspoon granulated sugar if using (adjust to taste).

4

Add 3 ice cubes to the blender for a thicker, colder texture.

Flavor Add-ins (choose one per shake)

5

Chocolate Shake

Add 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup to the blender with the base. Optional: add a pinch of sea salt to enhance chocolate flavor.

6

Strawberry Shake

Add 3 tablespoons strawberry puree (or mashed fresh strawberries) to the blender with the base. If using fresh strawberries, add an extra teaspoon sugar if they are not sweet.

7

Banana Shake

Add half a ripe banana (sliced) to the blender with the base. For extra creaminess, use a whole banana.

8

Coffee/Mocha Shake

Add 1 teaspoon cooled espresso (or 2 tsp strong cold-brew concentrate) and 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup to the blender with the base.

9

Peanut Butter Shake

Add 1 tablespoon peanut butter to the blender with the base. For extra nuttiness, add 1 tablespoon crushed peanuts or 1 tsp honey.

Blend & Finish

10

Secure the blender lid and blend on medium-high for 20–40 seconds, or until smooth and homogenous. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if large pieces remain.

11

Check consistency: if too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons milk and pulse to combine; if too thin, add another small scoop of ice cream and blend briefly.

Toppings & Serve

12

Pour the finished shake into the chilled serving glass, leaving about 1/2 inch at the top for toppings.

13

Top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream if desired, then sprinkle 2 tablespoons crushed cookies or candy, 1 teaspoon chocolate shavings, and finish with a maraschino cherry. For chocolate or peanut butter shakes, a small pinch of sea salt over the top brightens flavors.

14

Serve immediately with a straw and long spoon.
