Juicing the Lemons
Cut the fresh lemons in half and use a citrus juicer or your hands to squeeze out the juice. Collect the juice in a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Mixing Sugar and Water
In a pitcher, combine the granulated sugar with 1 cup of warm water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Combining Ingredients
Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher. Then, pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
Serving
Chilling and Garnishing
Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if desired. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if using.
