Chill glass
Place a coupe or chilled rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice and water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

Prepare serving glass
If you used ice to chill the serving glass, dump the ice and water. Fine-strain the stirred cocktail into the chilled coupe or over a large ice cube/ice sphere in a rocks glass, depending on preference.

Garnish and finish
Express an orange peel over the drink by holding the peel with the outer skin facing down about 6 inches above the cocktail and giving it a firm twist to spray oils across the surface. Rub the peel on the glass rim, then drop it into the cocktail. Optionally, add a Luxardo or brandied cherry on a pick for a touch of sweetness.

Serve
Present immediately while cold. The drink balances the gentle sweetness and floral notes of Irish whiskey with herbaceous vermouth, bitter-sweet amaro, citrus, and honey — an easygoing yet layered sipper worthy of 'The Irish Goodbye.'
