Calamari
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Calamari
In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Sauté the Hot Cherry Peppers
In a separate skillet, sauté the hot cherry peppers over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened.
- 5
Combine and Serve
Toss the fried calamari with the sautéed hot cherry peppers and serve immediately with spicy aioli on the side.
