Cocktail

Method

Rim (optional)

  1. 1

    Prepare rim

If you want a cinnamon-sugar rim, combine 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon on a small plate and mix. Rub the lime wedge around the lip of a rocks or coupe glass, then gently dip the rim into the cinnamon-sugar, rotating to coat evenly. Set glass aside.

Cocktail

  1. 2

    Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz El Bandido Yankee Reposado Tequila, 3/4 oz fresh lime juice, 1/2 oz agave syrup, 1/2 oz orange liqueur, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to a cocktail shaker.

  2. 3

    Dry shake

Without ice, dry shake the mixture vigorously for 10–15 seconds to help the ground cinnamon incorporate and bloom into the citrus and agave, improving texture and aroma.

  3. 4

    Shake with ice

Add a generous handful of ice (approximately 1 cup) to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

  4. 5

    Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass (over fresh ice if serving on the rocks, or neat in a chilled coupe) using a fine-mesh strainer to catch any cinnamon particles and ice shards.

  5. 6

    Garnish and finish

Garnish with a cinnamon stick laid across the rim or dropped into the glass. Optionally express a lime peel over the drink and discard or float the peel for additional aroma.
