Cocktail

Method

Prep

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Rub the rim of a rocks or coupe glass with the lime wedge. Dip the rim into the coarse salt or Tajín to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

  2. 2

    Muddle cucumber & mint

In a cocktail shaker, place the peeled cucumber slices and mint leaves. Gently muddle 6–8 times — press enough to release cucumber juice and mint aroma but avoid shredding the mint into fragments.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine ingredients

Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar to the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

  2. 4

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

  3. 5

    Double-strain

Using both the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer, double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (if serving on the rocks) or neat into the chilled glass if preferred. Double-straining removes cucumber solids and mint bits for a clean texture.

Finish & Serve

  1. 6

Garnish with a thin cucumber wheel and a mint sprig. Optionally express a lime peel over the drink for extra aroma or add a small grapefruit twist. Serve immediately.
