Method
Toast & Spreads
Toast the bread
Preheat a skillet over medium heat or set a toaster to medium. If using a skillet, spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on one side of two slices and repeat for the other two slices (or butter only if desired). Place bread, buttered side down, into the skillet and toast until golden brown, 2–3 minutes. Flip and toast the other side 1–2 minutes until crisp and warm. If using a toaster, toast to a medium golden level and butter immediately, if desired.
Prepare the spreads
While the bread is toasting, give the condensed milk a quick stir in its can or container so it's smooth. If the peanut butter is very thick, stir it briefly to loosen so it spreads easily.
Assemble with peanut butter
Place the toasted slices on a plate, buttered side up if you buttered. Spread 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter evenly over each slice (use more or less to taste).
Drizzle condensed milk
Spoon 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk over the peanut-buttered surface of each slice. For a more even coverage, drizzle in a thin stream or spread gently with the back of the spoon. If you prefer sweeter, add up to 1 1/2 tablespoons per slice.
Add crunch and seasoning
If using chopped roasted peanuts, sprinkle about 1/2 tablespoon over each slice so you get crunchy texture. Finish with a light pinch of flaky sea salt on each slice to balance sweetness, if desired.
Garnish & Serving
Optional banana: arrange thin banana slices on top of the condensed milk before sprinkling chopped peanuts so the banana adheres to the spread.
Optional dusting: lightly dust with cocoa powder or cinnamon for a flavor lift.
Serve immediately while toast is still warm. Cut slices in half or into fingers for easy eating. Store leftover condensed milk in its container refrigerated and use within recommended time; assembled toast is best eaten immediately.
