Cocktail
Chill the mug (optional)
Place a copper mule mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before making the drink to keep it extra cold. This step is optional but traditional for a Moscow Mule.
Add ice
Fill the chilled mug or a highball glass about three-quarters full with cubed ice (approximately 1 cup).
Pour vodka and lime
Measure and pour 2 oz Hangar One vodka over the ice, then add 0.5 oz (about half an ounce) of freshly squeezed lime juice directly into the glass.
Top with ginger beer
Slowly top the drink with 4 oz ginger beer. Pour gently to preserve carbonation and to allow the layers to integrate without excessive foaming.
Stir gently
Using a bar spoon or stirring straw, give the drink 2–3 gentle stirs to combine the vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer without losing too much fizz.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim and, if desired, a small mint sprig slapped once between your hands to release aroma. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
