Method

Preparation

1

Chill (optional)

If the Jameson or beer is warm, place the bottle of High Life in an ice bucket or refrigerator for 15–30 minutes prior to service. Alternatively, chill the beer in a bucket with ice and a few ice cubes can be placed in the shot glass briefly to cool it; discard melt water before pouring the whiskey.

Assembly & Service

2

Pour one neat shot (1 shot) of Jameson into a clean, room-temperature or slightly chilled shot glass. Do not add ice or mixers; 'neat' means served plain at room temperature or slightly chilled per guest preference.

3

Open one bottle of High Life. Serve the bottle upright alongside the shot glass on a napkin or coaster. Present to the guest with the instruction to sip the whiskey neat and enjoy the beer as a chaser, or to take the shot and then drink the beer—depending on preference.

4

If using the optional lemon wedge, serve it on the side. The guest may use it to freshen palate after the shot, though this is nontraditional for neat whiskey.

5

Dispose of any melted ice used for chilling and ensure glassware and bottle are free of drips before service.
