Method
Soda
- 1
Chill a tall glass in the refrigerator for a few minutes or fill with ice to cool. Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the glass.
- 2
Pour 12 fl oz of chilled carbonated soda slowly down the side of the glass to minimize foam.

Iced Tea

Brew the tea
Bring 12 fl oz (about 360 ml) of water to a near boil. Place 2 black tea bags in a heatproof container and pour the hot water over them. Steep for 4–5 minutes for a full-flavored tea (3–4 minutes for lighter).
- 5
Sweeten and cool
Remove and discard the tea bags. While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 tsp granulated sugar (or equivalent simple syrup) until dissolved. Stir in 1 tsp fresh lemon juice if using.

Finish
Add 6 fl oz cold water to the brewed tea to bring it to a cold temperature and adjust strength. Fill a serving glass with 1 cup ice cubes, pour the tea over the ice, and stir gently to chill. Garnish with a lemon slice if desired and serve.
