Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Shape Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Chill Meatballs

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate the meatballs for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook Onion and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

  3. 6

    Simmer Sauce

Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cooking Meatballs

  1. 7

    Cook Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the chilled meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.

  2. 8

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the simmering sauce. Let them cook together for an additional 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
