Preparation and Baking

1

Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, warm the milk until it is lukewarm. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

3

Make the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Set both aside.

4

Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

5

Add the Filling

Spread the cream cheese evenly over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.

6

Roll and Slice

Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough up into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

7

Second Rise

Cover the dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

8

Bake the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.

9

Make the Icing

While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar and vanilla extract with a little milk until you reach the desired icing consistency.

10

Glaze and Serve

Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and serve.
