Method
Cocktail
Prepare glass (optional rim)
If you want a salted/Tajín rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim then dip the rim into a shallow plate with coarse salt or Tajín. Set aside.
Measure & combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz reposado tequila, 2 oz freshly squeezed mandarin (or navel orange) juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 0.5 oz orange mandarin liqueur (if using). Add 2 dashes of orange bitters if you like a slightly aromatic finish.
Ice & shake
Fill the shaker with about 6 ice cubes. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold and you see condensation forming.
Strain & serve
Fill your prepared serving glass with fresh ice (large cubes or crushed, about 1 cup). Double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a fine mesh strainer and the cocktail shaker strainer to remove pulp and ice shards.
Garnish & Serve
Garnish the cocktail with a mandarin or orange wheel on the rim and a sprig of mint if desired. Serve immediately.
