Collagen Shake Base

Method

Collagen Shake Base

1

Measure and combine liquids

Pour 1 cup cold unsweetened almond milk and 1/4 cup cold filtered water into a blender or a large jar if using an immersion blender. The blended liquids help the collagen dissolve smoothly.

2

Add collagen powder

Add 2 tablespoons of grass-fed bovine collagen powder to the liquids. Collagen dissolves best when blended; avoid adding directly to very hot or steaming liquids to prevent clumping.

Flavor & Texture Enhancers

3

Add creamy and sweet elements

Add 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the blender. These will improve mouthfeel and flavor while keeping sugar low.

4

Add ice and blend

Add about 4 ice cubes (adjust to desired chill and thickness). Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is smooth, the collagen fully dispersed, and there are no powdery streaks.

Optional Boosters (choose any)

5

Add optional ingredients

If using optional boosters, add them before blending: 1/2 cup frozen banana for creaminess, 1/4 cup berries for fruit flavor, 1/4 cup spinach for greens, 1 teaspoon MCT or flax oil for healthy fats, or 1 teaspoon coffee for an energy kick. Blend 45–60 seconds until smooth when using frozen items.

Serve & Store

6

Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness. Add a splash more milk if too thick, or an additional 1/2–1 teaspoon honey if you prefer sweeter. Pour into a glass and consume immediately for best texture and nutrient availability.

7

To store: keep leftover shake in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or re-blend briefly before drinking, as separation can occur. Do not freeze once mixed, as texture will be compromised.
