Method
Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Prepare Egg and Buttermilk Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until well combined.
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the egg and buttermilk mixture, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Pickles
Fry the coated pickle slices in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Serve hot with your choice of ranch, house aioli, not so secret sauce, or superfly adobo aioli.
