Strawberry Shake

Enjoy a creamy and refreshing regular-sized strawberry shake made with ripe strawberries and smooth vanilla ice cream.

Wash the pears thoroughly under running water. Remove the stems and cores, then chop them into small pieces, leaving the skins on for added flavor.

Prepare the Pears

Place the chopped pears into a large pot and add the water. Use a potato masher or immersion blender to mash the pears until they are well broken down.

Make the Pear Mash

Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the pear mash to extract the juice. Make sure to squeeze the mash to get as much juice out as possible. You should have about 750ml of pear juice.

Strain the Pear Juice

In a clean container, mix the pear juice with sugar, citric acid, and yeast. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

Mix the Ingredients

Pour the mixture into a sanitized fermentation vessel, leaving some space at the top for bubbling.

Transfer to Fermentation Vessel

Seal the fermentation vessel with an airlock and store it in a cool, dark place (around 15-20°C) for about 1-2 weeks. During this time, fermentation will occur, and you might see bubbles forming in the airlock.

Seal and Store

After 1-2 weeks, check the fermentation progress. When bubbling has stopped, it’s time to bottle the cider.

Check Fermentation

Carefully siphon the cider into sanitized bottles, leaving about an inch of space at the top. Seal the bottles with caps or corks.

Bottle the Cider

Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for another 2-4 weeks to allow the flavors to mature. After aging, your pear cider is ready to be enjoyed!
