Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Coffee Mixture

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, mix in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and stir until dissolved. Set aside.

2

Prepare the Mascarpone Filling

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 cup of granulated sugar until the mixture is thick and pale. Then, add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.

3

Whip the Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, being careful not to deflate the cream.

Assembly

4

Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Place the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a rectangular dish.

5

Layer the Mascarpone Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the layer of ladyfingers.

6

Repeat the Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone layer, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Chilling and Serving

7

Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

8

Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and grate dark chocolate over the dessert for garnish. Cut into squares and enjoy!
