Method

Prep & Glass

1

Prepare glass

If you want a salted or tajín rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled margarita or rocks glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or tajín on a small plate to coat. Set the glass in the freezer or fill with ice to chill while you make the drink.

Blend

2

Combine ingredients

In a high-powered blender add 2 oz Comisario Añejo tequila, 1 oz Tito's vodka, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, 1.5 cups frozen strawberries, and 1.5 cups ice.

3

Blend to texture

Secure the lid and pulse briefly to break up large pieces, then blend on high until the mixture is smooth and slushy. If mixture is too thick, add 1/4 oz (about 7 ml) cold water or additional lime juice and pulse again. If too thin, add a few more frozen strawberries or a small handful of ice and re-blend.

4

Taste and adjust

Taste the slushy cocktail and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed: add up to 0.5 oz more simple syrup for sweetness or 0.25–0.5 oz more lime juice for brightness, blending briefly after adjustments.

Serve & Garnish

5

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard the chilling ice. Pour the frozen strawberry margherita into the prepared glass, using a spoon to hold back any excess foam if desired.

6

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and optionally a fresh strawberry on the rim or a small sliced fan placed on top. Serve immediately with a straw.
