1. Prepare the Bean Mixture

In a large bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

2. Mix in Ingredients

Add the oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans. Mix until well combined.

3. Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each part into a patty.

4. Cook the Patties

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

5. Assemble the Burger

On each burger bun, spread vegan mayo, add a lettuce leaf, place the cooked patty, top with sliced tomatoes, and finish with the top bun.

6. Serve
