Prep aromatics
Lightly crush the juniper berries in a mortar and pestle to release essential oils. Gently bruise the cedar fir tips to awaken their resinous aroma.
- 2
Toast to release fragrance
In a dry skillet over medium-low heat, toast the juniper berries and cedar fir tips for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
- 3
- 4
Heat water
Bring filtered water to just below a full boil (approximately 95–98°C / 203–208°F).
- 5
Brew
Pour hot water over the blend and steep for 5–6 minutes. Avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
- 6
Finish & serve
Strain the tea into cups. Serve warm. Optional: sweeten lightly with honey and garnish with a few extra cornflower petals.
