Fries

Method

Preparation of Fries

1

Cut Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into fries, about 1/4 inch thick.

2

Soak Potatoes

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry.

3

Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

4

Fry Potatoes

In batches, fry the potatoes until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Season Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt and toss to coat.

Togarashi Seasoning

6

Combine Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine shichimi togarashi, sesame seeds, crushed nori, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

7

Season Fries

Once the fries are ready, sprinkle the togarashi seasoning over them while they are still hot. Toss to ensure even coating.
