KALO AU Gratin Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
Prepare the Kalo
Peel and slice the Kalo into thin rounds, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Make the Cream Mixture
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, and season with salt and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
Layer the Dish
In a baking dish, start layering the Kalo slices. Pour a layer of the cream mixture over the Kalo, then sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream and a generous topping of Parmesan cheese.
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve
Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
