Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Jasmine Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine 1 cup of rice with 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.

2

Cook the Protein

Choose your protein. If using chicken or beef, grill or pan-fry until cooked through. For tofu, sauté in a little oil until golden brown. Allow to rest before slicing.

3

Prepare the Sunny Side Egg

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolk remains runny (about 2-3 minutes).

4

Assemble the Bowl

In a large bowl, layer the jasmine rice at the bottom. Top with your choice of protein, kimchi, pickled cucumber, wakame, spun carrots, and bean sprouts. Place the sunny side egg on top.

5

Garnish

Sprinkle with chopped cilantro, green onion, and both black and white toasted sesame seeds.
