Method

Batch (makes 1 cocktail)

1

Prepare glass

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Combine the sea salt on a small shallow plate and gently dip the glass rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

Measure ingredients

Measure 1.5 oz Ritual tequila alternative, 2 oz fresh pineapple juice, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 0.5 oz orange liqueur alternative into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice (roughly 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted. This chills and slightly dilutes the drink, balancing sweetness and acidity.

4

Double strain (optional)

If your pineapple juice is pulpy or you want a silky texture, double strain the shaken mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a jigger or directly into the prepared glass. If using well-filtered juice, a single strain is fine.

5

Serve

Pour the strained cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice if you prefer it on the rocks (optional). Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a lime wheel. Serve immediately.

6

Adjustments and tips

Taste and adjust: if the cocktail is too tart, add 1/4 oz more agave syrup and stir; if too sweet, add 1/4 oz more lime juice. For a smokier profile reminiscent of mezcal, add a small dash (1–2 drops) of smoked saline or smoked bitters.
