Method
Minting & Simple Syrup
Muddle mint
Place the fresh mint leaves and 1/2 tablespoon simple syrup in the bottom of a shaker. Gently muddle with a bartender's muddler (or the back of a spoon) 6–8 times to release oils. Do not over-muddle to avoid bitterness.
Spirits & Citrus
Add 1.5 oz Flecha Azul Blanco tequila, 0.25 oz pastis, and 0.75 oz fresh lime juice to the shaker with the muddled mint.
Fill the shaker with ice (enough to nearly fill) and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
Finishing & Garnish
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice (use a fine mesh strainer along with the shaker strainer to keep mint bits out).
Optional: Top with 1 oz club soda for a lighter, slightly effervescent finish.
Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime wheel. To release extra aroma, clap the mint between your palms once and place it on top of the drink.
