Cocktail
Garnish & Glass
Method
Cocktail
Chill the serving glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail (about 5 minutes).
Measure & Combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup.
Add Ice & Shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.
Prepare Glass
If you want a salted or spiced rim, run a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip it lightly into a shallow dish with coarse salt or Tajín (about 1 tsp). Discard the ice water or remove the glass from the freezer.
Strain & Serve
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass over fresh ice (or serve up without ice if you prefer). Use a fine mesh strainer in addition to the shaker's strainer to catch small ice shards and pulp.
Garnish & Finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally express a lime peel over the drink to release oils for extra aroma.
Taste & Adjust
Taste the cocktail. If it needs more sweetness, add 0.25 oz more agave and gently stir. If it needs brighter acidity, add a few drops more lime juice, up to 0.25 oz.
