Base Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined (do not overmix).

Filling Preparation

5

Prepare Blueberries

In a medium bowl, combine the fresh blueberries, lemon zest, lemon juice, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Gently toss to coat the blueberries evenly.

In a bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter. Mix until crumbly and all ingredients are well incorporated.

Spread half of the base mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Evenly distribute the blueberry filling over the base, then spoon the remaining base mixture on top.

8

Add Topping

Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the top layer.

9

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

10

Cool and Serve

Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
