Base & Mixer

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill

Chill a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and let sit while you prepare ingredients.

2

If you used the ice-to-chill method, discard that ice and add fresh large ice cubes or crushed ice to the glass before assembling.

Mix Drink

3

Combine base ingredients

Add the fresh lemon juice and simple syrup (if using) to a mixing glass or shaker. Add the gin if you are making the alcoholic version.

4

Light stir

Briefly stir or shake with one or two ice cubes to chill and slightly dilute (about 5–8 seconds shaking if using a shaker; 6–10 gentle stirs if using a mixing glass). This balances the acidity and sweetness with the spirit.

5

Top with Fentimans

Strain the chilled mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Top with 8 fl oz Fentiman's Rose Lemonade. If you prefer a longer, lighter drink, add up to 2 fl oz cold sparkling water and gently stir once to combine.

Garnish & Serve

6

Gently float an edible rose petal or two on the surface and add a lemon wheel or twist on the rim. Tuck a mint sprig alongside the ice if using for an herbal note.

7

Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer. If serving nonalcoholic, omit the gin and increase the Fentimans Rose Lemonade to 10 fl oz or add extra sparkling water to taste.
