Method
Prep & Rim
Prepare glass
Choose a rocks or coupe glass. Run the grapefruit wedge around the rim to moisten. Dip the rim briefly into the coarse sea salt to create a thin salted rim. Set glass aside.
Mixing
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of cubed ice, 2 oz vodka, 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 tsp low-calorie liquid sweetener if using. Add a pinch of sea salt.
Shake
Secure shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds, until the shaker is cold to the touch and the ingredients are well combined.
Strain & top
Double-strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice (if using a rocks glass) or serve straight up in the coupe. Top with 2 oz club soda, gently stir once to integrate.
Finish & Garnish
Taste briefly; if you want a slightly sweeter profile without much sugar, add another 1/8–1/4 tsp of the low-calorie sweetener and gently stir. Float or garnish with the grapefruit wedge or wheel on the rim. Optionally, sprinkle a very light extra pinch of sea salt on top to emphasize the salty note.
